Where To Take Dad For A Father’s Day Feast

Where To Take Dad For A Father’s Day Feast

Wimbledon foodie Sisley White rounds up her top three places to take dad for a treat this Father’s Day in SW19.

As a very foodie family, we’re always looking for new places to visit and try locally. My dad loves creating wonderful meals – but he also loves a special meal for Father’s Day. He’s been hinting at a few great places which I’ve rounded up to make the perfect ‘Dad’s choice’ of where to eat this Father’s Day.

1. Brew for Brunch

This wonderful restaurant in the heart of Wimbledon Village offers such a fantastic variety of food and drinks, and their brunches are locally known to be legendary. From blueberry pancakes or home-made granola with yoghurt to poached eggs or the Brew Melt (ham, gruyère, vine tomato, poached eggs and pesto served on toasted pide), there is definitely something for everyone! The menu will make your mouth water, and Dad will definitely struggle to choose just one item from their brilliant menu.

2. Fresh from the Farmers Market

Our next pick is to visit the farmers market, set only a few minutes away from Wimbledon Common, for an impromptu Father’s Day picnic under the sun. Markets are a massive treat for our family as we love browsing all the stalls and discovering new flavours. Choose from the incredible range of freshly made breads, cheeses, ready-to-eat pies and moreish cakes. Make sure you pick up some organic pressed apple juice from the Chegworth Farm stall, and don’t forget the picnic blanket!

3. Steak to sink your teeth into

The latest steak restaurant in Wimbledon is proving to be a popular place for die-hard carnivores. Bar + Block Steakhouse is in the base of the new Premier Inn hotel block on the Broadway. The menu features a range of different cuts of steak, and it comes in a variety of dishes. The deconstructed Beef Wellington is a beautiful dish and calls out for a special occasion. If you want to keep it simple, you have the choice of cut steak served with samphire, plus a house salad or beef-dripping triple-cooked chunky chips (we know which we’re having…). The menu’s tempting side dishes – including haloumi fries, garlic spinach, and mac and cheese bites – are also worth trying.
