Local womenswear tailor Dara Ford, renowned for her bespoke garments, has created a new collection of beautiful hairbands using vintage kimono silk.
When the country entered lockdown in late March, women’s tailor Dara Ford had to switch from creating bespoke garments for her clients to home schooling her three daughters whilst finding new ways to keep her business going.
With visits to the hairdresser off the cards for the foreseeable future and getting tired of seemingly endless bad hair days, Dara turned her creative skills to designing a beautiful range of headbands using vintage kimono silk. Now, even with lockdown hair, looking stylish and put together for online meetings has never been easier.
Each item is handmade in her studio in Isleworth and are one-off pieces. The Alice bands are available in a variety of styles and colours. They make ideal gifts for friends and family or a treat for yourself.
Have a look at the website www.daraford.com/shop to browse the various styles and perhaps pick up one of Dara’s handmade cloth face masks while you’re there too. Style and practicality – the perfect combination for our times.
