Ladies and gentlemen of Wimbledon, summer is on the horizon, freedom is nigh, and my goodness we all need and deserve some adventure in our lives!
Here are my top picks for unusual, unexpected and inexplicably joyous ways to spend ‘une soirée à Londres’.
London Cabaret Club
Currently showing the LCCs Best of British pop at the exquisite Bloomsbury Ballroom, this innovative musical celebration of the UK’s favourite hits throughout the decades is escapism and nostalgia at its best.
With various ticket, dinner and drinks options, you can enjoy exceptional service whilst indulging in a generous portion of swinging sixties through to spicy noughties. One things for certain, you’re bound to leave satisfied.
Lady Wimbledons network in the know can also revel that we are soon to see the LCCs launch of Pop Brunch. This will feature a BBQ lunch, bottomless bubbles and songs from Noughties on the last Saturday of each month. What a fabulous way to Spice Up Your Life!
Chadwicks Home of Zoology
The curious and curiouser events at Chadwicks Home of Zoology have recently cumulated in the imaginings and creation of a Fruits de Mer like never before seen in the capital. Like stepping into a Tim Burton novel, Chadwicks unlocks a fantasy you didn’t know you had buried inside you.
This abundant seafood platter is a brand new arrival to the restaurant scene and is sure to cause a stir, so head down to a Kingston riverside pronto whilst you’re still one of the first in the know!
This well known landmark in the center of London’s Soho has recently undergone a £10 million refurb, and it shows. With eclectic performances on a ‘stage with no edges’, this immersive and unexpected evening is sure to excite.
With a history dating back to the early 1900s, The Windmill has a rich back story, and continues to make history today. Enjoy a menu by Michelin starred Chef Andrew Mcleish and creative cocktail list by celebrated mixologist Andy Mil, whilst soaking up the talented, tasteful, and sometimes taboo entertainment.
Simultaneously an institution and a secret, incognito is quite possibly the home of London’s most unique cocktails. I’ve personally enjoyed a giant slug with candy escargot, a bath tub along with rubber duck, and most fascinatingly, a retro deep sea scuba helmet with an entire coral reef inside.
An evening at Incognito’s is an evening of adventure, escapism and good old fashioned fun. Most of all, an evening extraordinarily well spent.
