Rumour has it; AFC Wimbledon will be parading across town centre streets on Sunday 3 July to celebrate their promotion to League One!
Wimbledon will be a vision of yellow and blue, as the team are set to proudly show of the League Two play-off final trophy on an open-top bus. AFC Wimbledon Manager, Neal Ardley and his players will parade through the Wimbledon Village and town centre to show off their new silverware. The bus will make its last stop at the Piazza, so the club can address fans and thank them for their support.
AFC Wimbledon Commercial Director, Ivor Heller said: “It is always a delight for us at AFC Wimbledon to be involved in and around our natural conurbation! The clue is in the name. A bus parade and celebration of the clubs achievements should take place at the heart of our community. For too long Wimbledon has been away from our home town. We are looking forward to a lot of things at AFCW, not only our day in Wimbledon on the 3rd of July, but the pending decision on our planning application so we can finally move back to SW19. This is a great opportunity for the people of Wimbledon to come out in force and show their love for the club that belongs to everyone!”
