Make a difference this season and give your previously loved teddy bears a new home with Bearly Loved and The Bentall Centre until Sunday 18 December 2016.
The Bentall Centre are working to give children all over the world the chance to feel special by inviting shoppers to gift a previously loved teddy bear to the charity Bearly Loved.
You are invited to bring in a washed, previously loved bear to the centre and drop it in one of the centre’s BearPorts. Each bear will be given its own special passport which travels with it, allowing donors to write a personal message letting the new owner know all about the teddy – what it’s name is, what it likes, and more. On Christmas Eve the bears will be collected up and the centre will work with the charity to distribute them around the world to children who are not so fortunate.
Sam Eastwood, Centre Director, said: ‘At The Bentall Centre our Christmas Bears have become iconic, bringing smiles to many locals faces each Christmas time. This year we wanted to spread the joy further than Kingston-upon-Thames and are thrilled to be working with Bearly Loved using teddy bears to send love and a gift to children around the world.”
Bearly Loved is a non profit organisation, with the goal of ensuring as many children as possible are given the opportunity to feel special and loved, aiming to give underprivileged children across the world something to hold onto when they feel all alone.
Andrea Lea, founder of Bearly Loved, says: “Bearly Loved is extremely excited to be joining with The Bentall Centre, giving children the opportunity to send love to another child with a teddy bear. So come along with your furry friend and join us in making Christmas special for children everywhere.”
