Lady Wimbledon, the ‘Eyes of Lady Wimbledon’ bloggers and Karine Torr (editor of Darling Magazine Wimbledon) did their bit this morning for Merton’s Big Tidy Up, at Wimbledon Rugby Club and the entrance to the Fishponds Wood Nature Reserve.
The nationwide initiative is taking place in our area from today until Sunday 5 March. Merton Council are encouraging local residents and businesses to put on their gloves, take out their litter picks and get involved.
This is just one of the ways which helps to clear rubbish from the borough’s streets and tackle litter louts who drop tonnes of rubbish in Merton every year, costing Merton’s taxpayers a huge £5 million annually.
