One thing’s for sure, sunny days are made for outside dining. Don’t ponder over it…if you see the sun, just do it! Bring out a fresh summer table cloth, some flowers, glasses, drinks, and enjoy. Everyone likes a colourful and inviting table with refreshments.

Al fresco dining can be as colourful as you want, mix and match your china if you like. If you have a huge vase, place it in the middle with an assortment of flowers.

For this sunny day, I had a romantic approach to al fresco dining, using pink, green and brown colours. Limes and lemons, green bottles and some rustic vases gave the table a hint of Italian or French flavour, don’t you think? Bring out some cushions and make it like a outdoor kitchen.

Food-wise go for an easy and tasty the dish. My favourite is stuffed chicken with lemon, garlic and thyme on a bed of root fruits – don’t forget to rub the chicken all over with olive oil and lemon for extra flavour. Pop it in the oven and enjoy the sun while everything is preparing slowly. This meal can be accompanied by potatoes with a dash of olive oil, and lots of herbs.

So there you have it. Bask in the sun and watch the kids play –  it’s a very relaxing way to spend the day and create some wonderful summer memories.

A small terrace or garden with olive and fruit trees would be the perfect setting beautiful secret garden. Also remember you can never be “over the top” when it comes to decorating with flowers, or anything green…
