Christmas in Wimbledon has started with the first festive event of the year at The Fire Stables.

I visited the restaurant in the Village with Lady W last week to try out their festive feast. We were treated to a delicious range of Christmas foods which included the classic turkey roast with all the trimmings, pan roasted salmon and pork belly with Bramley apple puree with red cabbage and cranberries.

The welcoming and warm restaurant was decorated with Christmas lights, tables made up for a feast and instantly I felt so cosy and definitely hoped for snow to fall outside the window. The smell of roasting meat was incredible and I could have eaten all the dishes that were on display and not felt guilty about it.

As well as seeing examples of the main dishes the Fire Stables would be preparing this Christmas, we were also given the opportunity to try bite size tasters of nearly everything on the menu. It was such a treat to be able to try a full menu in bite size form. The pigs in blankets with a slice of turkey underneath was my favourite followed very closely by the salmon.

I left feeling so happy and full of Christmas spirit. I can’t wait to return to eat their specials closer to Christmas. Now all I have to do is wait a few months!
