I really feel inspired to start a new in January, this week I have been clearing out my house and it feels amazing. I do the same with my body and beauty routines. I love giving my body a full on detox session involving all my favourite at home beauty treatments.
Here’s how you can do the same:
The day before I plan to have my mini pampering session I will use Coconut oil in my hair. This is ideally best over night (or as long as you can take the smell and greasy look – not a good look if you have to leave the house).
Body brush all over, this is best on dry skin and start from your feet and move upwards. This will remove dead skin cells, and help with circulation. It is also great for getting rid of any last bits of fake tan that you may have had over the party season.
When the above is done run a hot bath and fill with Epsom salts. These will help to detoxify your body from the outside, as well as help you to relax and ease muscle tension.
You may also want to add some essential oils for full on relaxation. Take your pick from the amazing selection by Neom… I love theirs in particular because you can choose the oils from what you need. There is a specific oil designed to make you feel happy, sleepy, energised and much more.
Wash off the coconut oil with shampoo and then add a hair mask, this can soak in whilst you are relaxing in the bath. Ideally 20-30 minutes to really get the most from it.
There are so many amazing exfoliating products out there and using these in the bath when your skin is already soft from the water will work wonders.
I am loving the sheet face masks! Yes they look a little bit scary, like you have just walked out of a horror movie, but I really notice the difference in how soft and glowing my skin feels afterwards. Top tip is put them in the fridge before using them as the cold will help your skin feel super refreshed and help to tighten your pores.
Sit back and relax and enjoy a cup of herbal tea. I have been drinking as much herbal tea as possible this week, to help cleanse my body from the inside. The best for me is nettle tea, if you don’t like the flavour try with peppermint. This is a great combo for your stomach and helps with digestion. If you are having your bath just before bed try a tea that will help you sleep like Dr Stuart’s Tranquil Tea. I love getting loose tea leaves which I use to make a big pot and I can drink throughout the day.
If you are having your pamper session before a night out, once you have washed the treatment off your hair I would highly recommend using rollers. Whilst styling my own hair I always use eye pads to help reduce puffiness and wrinkles.
If you are going straight to bed after your pamper session, then I highly recommend covering yourself in oils and creams and put on nice clean pjs and you really should feel a whole lot better and get a very restful nights sleep.
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!!
