On Saturday, Lady Wimbledon and Being Mr Brown embarked on a Wimbledon pub crawl to check out how the locals would be celebrating the Royal Wedding.
Starting in the peaceful The Hand in Hand at 10am we began our quest…
As we crossed Wimbledon Common and headed towards Wimbledon Village, we heard cheers and the trotter of Wimbledon Village Stables hooves.

With all that excitement we stopped for a spot of brunch at the Rose & Crown courtyard which was buzzing with flags, laughter and sunshine.

Recognised from her Instagram, Lady W was thrilled to learn of another wedding taking place at St Mary’s Church in Wimbledon Village.

We decided to watch the ceremony at the big screen at The Alexandra pub.
We were thrilled to bump in to Wimbledon’s most prolific and loved GM, Mick. We enjoyed the love sermon by Michael Curry which had a mixed reaction from the punters!

After the 14 min sermon, Mr Brown and Lady Wimbledon headed down Wimbledon Broadway and were thrilled to see Roxie Steak’s beautiful new restaurant situated opposite Ely’s.
We popped into the Hand and Racquet to see taste their special Royal Wedding Pale Ale ‘Something Borrowed, Something Brewed.’

We then headed to The almighty Prince of Wales where I met a rather disgruntled man on his phone who made it very clear that ‘these women in his pub watching the bleeding Royal Wedding were ruining the footy’. After a laugh together we thought it best to head back to where we started and watch the rest of the wedding in the sunshine at the Rose & Crown.

Walking home that evening the Village was packed with Wimbledon locals spread across pubs, the common and The Hand in Hand garden. It was a great reminder of how we will celebrate the forthcoming tennis fortnight.
