With #WimbledonFever about to hit, hotels across the city are creating their own tennis themed menus. The Petersham Restaurant in Richmond have designed an ace afternoon tea fit for The Championships. Lady W went to check out the hotel boasting the best views of the River Thames.

Head Chef Jean-Didier Gouges’ big serves for the season are a scrumptious Pimm’s jelly and cucumber foam, mini mango ‘tennis ball’ cheesecakes and white chocolate and strawberry tartlets. It’s a grand slam of favourite Wimbledon flavours. And, with a view over the Thames as inviting as Centre Court, The Petersham is a destination that can be enjoyed throughout the Championships, and beyond.

The Petersham’s Wimbledon Afternoon Tea also includes a classic selection of finger sandwiches, scones and exquisite patisserie including Petersham Victoria sponge, Opera, and fruit cake. A selection of quality teas including favourites fizzes accompany the food beautifully.

The Petersham is running its quintessential Afternoon Tea with a delightful Wimbledon twist, from Monday 2nd July – Sunday 15th July. For more information and prices please visit their website.

Additinally, The Petersham Restaurant will be serving a winning dessert – a refreshing strawberry and elderflower mousse encased in a hand-crafted crisp white chocolate tennis ball.

This spectacular and playful dessert will be part of the a la carte dessert menu along with another Wimbledon-themed delight of strawberry Eton mess served with Chantilly cream and meringue. The menu will be available throughout the Wimbledon Championships, from Monday 2nd July – Sunday 15th July.

Book a table now to enjoy a taste of Wimbledon with a superior view.
