With the August bank holiday this weekend there are some great foodie events to visit and places to enjoy a delicious meal. Here are my top 3 foodie destinations for this bank holiday weekend in London.
Hampton Court Palace Food Festival
The iconic home of Henry VIII is the stunning backdrop for this delicious food festival and one of the top places to visit this bank holiday weekend. Learn from the best by watching incredible chefs and foodies including Michel Roux Jr, Nadiya Hussain, Lisa Faulkner, Melissa Hemlsey and Dr Rupy Aujla as they take part in live cooking demonstrations.
There will also be tastings and masterclasses, pop-up restaurants, book signings and over 100 producers of speciality foods. To keep you going around the festival there will also be street food to enjoy as well as afternoon tea and even cocktails in the pop up bars. It’s a great day out as tickets to the festival include free entry into the palace!
Adult tickets £19.20, Children tickets £9.60

Wimbledon Park Food Festival
This weekend the Wimbledon Park Food Festival is back for its fifth year in a row. The foodie festival offers a range of regional food and drink from artisan bread and pastries, crêpes and fudge to gourmet BBQ, sushi, cheeses and charcuterie, with plenty of sampling opportunities along the way. There will be over 45 stalls to explore and it will be a great day out for the foodies and families in the area.
Wimbledon Park Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Ticket prices are £6 for adults and £3 for children. Revelstock Road entrance to Wimbledon Park is the closest to the festival.
Smithfield Meat Market turns 150!
This year sees the iconic London meat market turn 150 years old and of course that means there will be a party. This bank holiday everyone is invited to join the festivities and enjoy their festival areas with 30,000 people expected to attend. There will be spaces dedicated to music, family and children activities and, of course, incredible street food and drink. The event is being put on the by Museum of London and will be one not to miss.
