Take a full choir, 2 ballerinas, a stunning hotel, 250 guests, 3 Christmas trees and the real Father Christmas, and you get Lady Wimbledon’s Christmas Party at Cannizaro House.
Guests eyes sparkled as they entered the stunning festive orangery at luxury boutique hotel; Hotel du Vin, Wimbledon, lit up with lights just off the frozen common.
Offered a glass of fizz, they were entranced by the unmistakable sound of Christmas carols sung by a choir of 25 by Wimbledon Chase Primary School Parents Choir.
A red carpet sprinkled with snow lead guests to an atmospheric snow scene created with Christmas trees kindly donated by Pines and Needles, glowing reindeer and an abundance of snow and twinkling lights. The whimsical scene was made the perfect backdrop for festively dressed guests being photographed in their finery.
The guests felt their own childhood magic of Father Christmas return as they saw him sit by the warm fireplace. He was invited to the party by Kisiel Group, an award winning construction company, to find out if our guests were on his naughty or nice list.
The room was filled with the spirit of Christmas, complimented by an array of the finest festive canapés and wine served by Hotel du Vin.
In the corner of the room stood a glitter pop-up studio brought by Studio Glo. The founder, Braid bejewelled guests with glitter lipstick, face sparkles and décolletage shimmer.
There was a charity a raffle on the night to raise money for Evolve Housing + Support, who help homeless people in Merton to get off the streets and into positive, independent lives. Generous prizes were donated: Afternoon tea for two at The Ivy Café, a watch from Rotary, a private wine tasting experience at Friarwood, dinner and Prosecco at Megan’s, a flower arrangement by Cherished Blossoms, Bed & Breakfast at Hotel du Vin Wimbledon, and a gingerbread house gifted by Kisiel Group. The Christmas trees at the party kindly gifted by Pines and Needles, situated in Wimbledon Park and will be delivered by Lady Wimbledon so they can spend their Christmas at Evolve shelters.
Just when guests thought it couldn’t be anymore magical, two Christmas ballerinas came out to perform a ballet performance inspired by The Nutcracker on the red carpet. The elegantly poised dancers, shining bright in LED tutus were from Jones Academy based in Wimbledon.
Our joyous community of local friends, residents, businesses and famous faces filled the room and welcomed in new guests experiencing their first Lady W Event.
Our friends Celeb FC brought a team of their celebrity guests. Also in attendance was Janice Howard, The Mayor of Merton accompanied by Edward Foley the Deputy Mayor of Merton.
It wouldn’t be a Christmas party without legends MC Kie and his entourage live DJ set which as expected got guests on their feet and dancing until late in the night.
