Champagne alfresco dining at Cannizaro house, by Hotel du Vin

With the long-awaited return of the tennis and some outdoor events, Lady Wimbledon is back to celebrate the forthcoming Wimbledon 2021 Championships on the Lanson Champagne Terrace at Cannizaro House by Hotel Du Vin.  If you were there, you’ll know what a great afternoon it was; read on to find out about what went on and explore what Cannizaro’s new Italian menu has to offer this summer…

Lady Wimbledon chose a beautiful summers day to raise a glass with friends. As always, she created a stunning afternoon in mid June for us to enjoy an extra special event.

The afternoon soirée was off to a glamorous start with a stunning ‘Green’ carpet entrance. Twenty four guests were escorted through the Hotel’s stunning foyer and treated to a glass of the crisp and zesty Lanson Pere et Fils Brut on the new Lanson Champagne Terrace overlooking the idyllic Cannizaro Park.

Completing the buzzy yet soothing ambience was an impressive tribute to Frank Sinatra by Lady Wimbledon’s friend So Sinatra, who lit up the event with his voice and charm. His witty impersonation had all in fits of laughter whilst his songs created a romantic and warm sense of nostalgia for the decadence of the 20’s.

Guests were able taste a delicious range from Cannizaro’s new Italian Menu. The food arrived and guests were delighted to try an abundance of authentic Italian starters and antipasti including Bruschetta al Pomodoro,  Arancini balls and  Prosiutto di parma. We adored the mix of conversation, light delicacies and Lanson Champagne.

The atmosphere was a warm buzz of excitement as people were able to reunite once more and enjoy good food and laughter amongst friends. As tradition holds, cool & refreshingly jugs of Pimms were served to set the scene of a perfect summer afternoon in Wimbledon.

As the drinks continued to flow, the chefs impressed all guests with traditional stone baked Italian pizza, made fresh just moments before. All of the food served was exquisite, and guests couldn’t help themselves from going back for more.

Nothing says Wimbledon more than fresh strawberries and mascarpone cream. This was complimented by Wimbledon Brewery’s delicious summer creation; Wimbledon Pink. It really was the cream on top of a perfect summer afternoon.

The champagne was flowing, the food was mouth-watering, the company was divine, and the setting – just perfect. It really was an indulgent afternoon of fun and laugher to spend with friends.
