Cin Gin! Get Into the Festive Spirit at Silent Pool.

Our new Celebrity Editor, Angela Sara West will be taking her family and her fab photographer Stephen Santos @wackpaper17photography, for a delectable day out at the famous Silent Pool’s Christmas shopping event in the stunning Surrey Hills this December.

She chats with Channel 4’s ‘A Place in the Sun’ presenter, Laura Hamilton, about how the Surrey star became the celebrity ambassador for Silent Pool Gin and finds out what’s in store at the brand’s new Winter Bar, plus the premium gin’s forthcoming festive shopping day.

As my diary fills up with exciting Christmas events a-go-go, alongside our sparkling Lady Wimbledon party on Thurs 9th December, another merrymaking date I’m particularly looking forward to falls on Saturday 4th Dec, which sees Silent Pool Gin Distillers’ fabulous festive event full of flavours and shopping ops. What’s more… it’ll be ‘gin o’clock’ practically ALL day!

Spice up this celebratory season at Silent Pool, where the sustainable gin brand have launched their wonderful Winter Bar for Christmas. Cosy, unspoilt and beautifully-decorated for the festive season, the atmospheric Winter Bar boasts soft’n’fluffy sheepskin-bedecked benches and is available for private hire, catering for both small and large parties.

Set in a unique location overlooking the famous floodlit Silent Pool, from which the distillery draws the spring water for their second-to-none gin, it’s a great place for a gin-fuelled pitstop before dining in a nearby pub, a livener before heading home after a walk on the North Downs, or simply to soak up the gin-tastic festive atmosphere as you shop for sizzling Silent Pool goodies for your family and friends.

On Saturday December 4th, everyone is welcome at the premium gin brand’s flavoursome Christmas shopping fest, where you can indulge in gin mince pies, boozy hot chocolate (with gin, of course!) a hearty hog roast, plus so much more… As an added bonus, you can sip on a delightful G&T as you get your Christmas shopping done all in one!

A Place at the Silent Pool…

Distilled on the Duke of Northumberland’s Albury Estate, the sustainable gin was inspired by a group of friends’ common passion for craft distilling, seeing them come together to create a new kind of distillery, producing handcrafted, artisan spirits with uncompromising quality.

‘A Place in the Sun’ presenter Laura Hamilton is Silent Pool Gin’s celebrity brand ambassador. “I first became aware of Silent Pool Gin a couple of years ago, when its beautiful teal and copper bottle caught my eye in my local Waitrose,” she tells me. “A year later, I got to visit the distillery whilst working on a fashion shoot.”

She says she was “blown away” by the beauty of the Silent Pool and its stunning location, nestled in the sprawling Surrey Hills. “But, as a Surrey-based entrepreneur and business owner myself, I was also super impressed with Silent Pool Distillers as a business. Innovative, independent and committed to distilling the finest handcrafted spirits in a sustainable and ethical way. What’s not to like?!!”

Laura’s collaboration with the brand sees her very own bistro, Lord Roberts on the Green, stock Silent Pool wares, such as scented candles, their gorgeous copa glasses and, of course, gin! She says she’s proud to take on the ambassadorial role for the premium brand. “I’m delighted to support a fellow Surrey-based business and to be their official brand ambassador!”

Other famous faces who have visited the distillery include Surrey resident and ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter Charlotte Hawkins, along with the Countess of Wessex, while well-known visitors to the Silent Pool Gin Garden at the Chelsea Flower Show in the past include ‘This Morning’ presenter Phillip Schofield, BBC Radio DJ Jo Whiley, crafty property expert Kirstie Allsopp, and Virgin Radio Breakfast Show host Chris Evans.

Your Christmas shopping all wrapped up!

Up for a spot of shopping? With Christmas around the corner, Silent Pool Distillery’s shop has THE perfect gifts all wrapped up… Whatever your wish list, there’s something for everyone, so you can be sure to find something to tickle their tastebuds.

And on December 4th, a whole host of amazing local artisans will be showcasing their phenomenal products, too. From festive wreaths to personalised gin, there will be gifts galore at this one-stop-shop to make all your Christmas shopping dreams come true!

Making for magical moments, take your pick from festive stalls aplenty, including local artisans Mandira’s Kitchen and Norbury Cheese among the brilliant brands boasting their mouthwatering merch, all accompanied by amazing Silent Pool spirits.

Sit and savour the many flavours of Silent Pool… delectable treats washed down with delicious drinks as you sip away at the new alfresco bar on the outdoor terrace overlooking the crystal-clear, turquoise pool.

Gin-spirational gifts a-go-go!

With gin goodies on tap, choose a stylish teal presentation box set, or select from an exceptional range of small-batch gins for presents this year. Fear not if your giftee is no gin fan – these special Surrey distillers make a mean Rum, Vermouth, and Wry Grain Vodka, too!

The brand has recently teamed up with The Cocktail Man so you can now create delicious bar-standard cocktails at home! Packaged in a beautiful box which fits straight through a letter box, the kits contain everything you need to make the delicious cocktails at home for you and your friends. With The Cocktail Man x Silent Pool Gin kits, you’re sure to fall in love with The Cocktail Man Sliqueurs!

Struggling for gifts for non drinkers? Worry no more, as alongside gins and other spirits aplenty, apt merchandise includes fitting accessories and apparel… From classic crew necks and cool T-shirts (with 50% of profits going towards supporting mental health wellbeing amongst NHS frontline workers), to ice buckets for the home bar, both gin lovers and non-drinkers alike will drool over the illuminating bottle string lights, beautiful jute bags, or treat them to tasty colourful cordials, a liquid garnish of fresh kaffir limes or bergamot oranges, or a sprinkle of Silent Pool room mist.

From gin giggers and cushions to coasters, check out the fantastic new premium products Silent Pool Gin now offer since entering the world of interiors and soft furnishings.

A Candle Collab

In a perfect match, Sam, a police officer who set up Compass Candles several years ago, sparked up the idea for Silent Pool to capture the sensational scents of their botanicals in a candle. A flaming good idea, the gin brand said, and they’ve been waxing lyrical ever since!

The ultimate Gin Lover’s Candle will light up their life, or go for the Orange, Mandarin & Bergamot Candle. inspired by the bountiful botanicals used in the Silent Pool Rare Citrus Gin. Housed in an upcycled Rare Citrus bottle, fresh orange, clarifying mandarin and rich, ripe green bergamot exude from this wonderful gift.

But back to the gin, and don’t miss the sustainable brand’s first-ever gin in a cardboard bottle – Green Man Gin is the world’s first spirit to be packaged this way!

Oh, and mustn’t forget the essential – snap up some of Silent Pool’s handy hand sanitisers while you’re there, too!

Head along to the annual event between 10am-4pm for a day of gin-filled fun and merriment. No need to book – just rock up and chill out with a gin cocktail or two on the enticing terrace, taking in the spectacular Silent Pool views before you shop ‘til drop this December.

Have a gin-tastic time and see you there!
