One of the greatest ways to see more of Wimbledon is to run about this area. Suppose you are looking for Wimbledon’s top hiking and running routes for a challenging trek or a family outing. In that case, this article provides the area’s top 10 family-friendly, simple hiking pathways. 

With paths ranging from 95 to 277 meters in elevation, Wimbledon has the ideal route for you.

Wimbledon Common and The Toast Rack Circular

This place is best for a lovely hike with mostly hard surfaces and less mud to be found. In the middle of Wimbledon, it leads you through some stunning, less-traveled places with denser woodlands, providing peace. 

Near the trail’s beginning, several lovely wood carvings were inspired by famous books and movies, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. For fitness enthusiasts, this place has a lot to offer.

There are also lots of activities like den construction to keep youngsters busy.

Wimbledon Common Circular

The 6.6 km walk circles Wimbledon Common and leads you to the nicest areas of the park, where you can get close to nature and marvel at the stunning animals. 

You can explore Wimbledon’s environs and its lovely gardens. The place offers many outdoor activities for families, including horseback riding, bird watching, golf, events, volunteering, etc.

Wimbledon Common

This place offers a great advantage of this magnificent woodland and heathland route around Wimbledon Common so that you may admire the many wildlife and plants. 

While you wander down the picturesque walkways, you can enjoy beautiful views of wildlife, surrounded by the melodious chirping of birds. Especially in rainy circumstances, caution is advised while running on the more difficult portions of this course. 

It is suggested to wear suitable footwear as well. You can also train for higher skills with equipment in the gym in this place.

Wimbledon Common – Southside House to Putney Vale

You can stroll in Wimbledon Common Park, beginning at Southside House and continuing all the way towards Putney Vale and then back. This is the ideal location to get away from the busy city life and explore the outdoors on foot, by running, or by bicycle.

You may enjoy several outdoor activities, including horseback riding, golfing, and seasonal events with your family and friends. 

Nature and an abundance of creatures are all around you, providing several things to adore.

Wimbledon Common and Putney Vale Circular

In the middle of the metropolitan areas of Wimbledon, Putney, and Kingston lie this 1,140 acres of countryside known as Wimbledon Common and Putney Vale. 

The Commons, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation, offers visitors a major animal habitat and a tranquil retreat.

Noodle’s Wimbledon Windmill

This place offers an 8.4-km circular route close to London’s Wandsworth. It requires an average of two hours and ten minutes to finish and is typically considered a moderately difficult course. 

There will be a few other hikers or runners along this path, which is perfect for birdwatching and other outdoor activities. In some places, dogs are allowed without leashes as well.

Windmill and Wimbledon Common Circular

You can discover this 4.8-km circular track in the vicinity of London’s City of London. Making this trip typically takes over 1 hour, which is considered simple for beginners and families. 

There won’t be a crowd of hikers or walkers along this trail, making it a terrific place to explore.

Beginning from the Wimbledon Windmill Museum, this path completes a loop across Wimbledon Common. However, it is suggested to be mindful of golfers when walking close to the golf course.

Wimbledon Common and Tibbets Conners Circular

Consider taking this 9.5-km circular track close to Wandsworth, London. It typically takes an average of 2 hours to finish this trip, and it is considered easy. 

There are fewer chances that you would come across other hikers running across this track, which is perfect for road riding, running and mountain biking. 

The route is lovely to explore anytime and is open throughout the year. Dogs are permitted, yet they should be leashed.

Wimbledon Common and Fishponds Wood Circular

This is a nice, family-friendly trek with a delightful city center respite. This route allows one to view some animals and take in the beauty of nature as it winds through the trees and the open common area. 

There will be only a few other hikers or runners along this path, which is perfect for birdwatching and other outdoor activities.

Dogs are permitted. However, they must be leashed. It would be best if you also were careful when walking on the route’s rougher portions, which might get muddy in rainier weather. It would be best if you also were cautious of golfers when passing along the golf course.

King George Park to Wimbledon Common

You can view this 14.3-kilometer out-and-back track close to Wandsworth, London. It is an easy trip and typically takes a little more than 3 hours to be completed. 

You might only pass a few other runners when hiking across this track, which is perfect for road riding, mountain biking, and running. The route can be explored all year round.
