Looking for the best fireworks displays near Wimbledon this Bonfire Night?
From two big local shows in Wimbledon and Morden to spectacular evenings in Richmond and Battersea Park, there are some brilliant options across South West London this November.
Whether you’re looking for an earlier display for younger children, a traditional family Bonfire Night or something with more of a party atmosphere, here are four of the best fireworks events in and around Wimbledon for 2026.
1. Wimbledon Park Fireworks
Thursday 5 November 2026
Gates open: 5.15pm
First fireworks display: 6.45pm
Second fireworks display: 8.30pm
Funfair closes: 10pm
Where: Wimbledon Park, SW19 7HR
It doesn’t get much more local than this. Merton Council’s Fireworks in the Park returns to Wimbledon Park on Bonfire Night itself, with two spectacular fireworks displays choreographed to music.
The 6.45pm show is designed to be particularly suitable for younger children and families, while the second display at 8.30pm gives those happy to stay out later another chance to see the park light up.
Alongside the fireworks there will be a funfair, street-food village, licensed bar and refreshments, making it a full evening out rather than simply a fireworks display. Merton Council says its Wimbledon and Morden shows are among the borough’s best-loved annual events and warns that they can sell out. Merton Council
There is no event parking, so visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle or use public transport. Wimbledon Park and Southfields Underground stations are both convenient, although Merton Council advises that the Revelstoke Road entrance can become particularly busy. Merton Council

2. Morden Park Fireworks
Saturday 7 November 2026
Gates and funfair open: 5.15pm
First fireworks display: 6.45pm
Second-show gates open: 7.15pm
Second fireworks display: 8.30pm
Funfair closes: 10pm
Where: Morden Park, SM4 5QU
One of the most useful additions for families around Wimbledon, Raynes Park, Morden and the surrounding area is Morden Park’s own Fireworks in the Park evening.
Taking place on Saturday 7 November, it follows the same successful format as the Wimbledon Park event, with two musical fireworks displays, an earlier family-friendly performance, funfair, street food and a licensed bar. Visit Greenwich
It’s also an excellent alternative if you can’t make Wimbledon Park on the Thursday — or simply prefer a Saturday night event.
Morden Park is one of Merton’s largest open spaces and has hosted annual fireworks crowds of around 20,000 people in previous years. There are three event entrances at London Road, Hillcross Avenue and Lower Morden Lane. If the children have their eyes firmly fixed on the funfair, Merton Council recommends using the London Road entrance, which is closest to it.
There’s no parking at the event itself, so public transport is recommended. Morden Underground station is around a 10–15 minute walk away, with Morden South railway station even closer.

3. Richmond’s Family Fireworks Night
Sunday 1 November 2026
Gates open: 4.30pm
Live entertainment: 5.30pm
Last entry: 6.30pm
Fireworks: 7pm
Funfair and stalls close: 9pm
Where: Richmond Athletic Ground, Twickenham Road, Richmond, TW9 2SF
For a slightly different take on Bonfire Night, Richmond’s Family Fireworks Night returns on Sunday 1 November with a Halloween Spooktacular theme.
The centrepiece is a musical fireworks display from award-winning Phoenix Fireworks, accompanied by a funfair, live entertainment and more than 20 food and drink stalls. Expect everything from burgers and pizza to churros, doughnuts, hot drinks and mulled wine. Richmond FC
The earlier timings make Richmond a particularly appealing choice for families: gates open at 4.30pm and the fireworks begin at 7pm, with the main display finishing at around 7.30pm.
Richmond Rugby says the event sold out in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, and tickets won’t be available at the gate, so this is definitely one to book ahead. Richmond FC
It is also very easy to reach without a car. Richmond station is less than five minutes’ walk away, with National Rail, Overground and Underground connections.

4. Battersea Park Fireworks

If you’re looking for the biggest night out of the four, Battersea Park turns Bonfire Night into something closer to a mini festival.
On Saturday 7 November, the entertainment includes a pre-fireworks Rudimental DJ set, Latin music from Conjunto Sabroso and a post-display Disco Ceilidh. The fireworks themselves begin at approximately 8.30pm and are choreographed to a specially selected soundtrack. Battersea Park Fireworks
Sunday is the more family-friendly option, with an earlier start and fireworks at around 7pm. The programme includes Arcadia’s Lords of Lightning, a Taylor Swift tribute show and a Pop Anthems afterparty. Battersea Park Fireworks
The display is being produced by Titanium Fireworks, whose previous work includes London’s New Year’s Eve celebrations and the Commonwealth Games. Battersea Park Fireworks
Tickets must be bought in advance and cannot be purchased at the gate. There is no general event parking in Battersea Park, so train, Tube, bus, bicycle or walking are recommended. Battersea Park Fireworks

So, which one should you choose?
For Wimbledon locals, Wimbledon Park has the obvious advantage of being right on the doorstep — and falling on Bonfire Night itself this year.
Morden Park is possibly the best alternative for those south of Wimbledon or anyone wanting a Saturday evening display without travelling far, while Richmond offers a great family evening with Halloween thrown into the mix.
For teenagers, groups of friends or families wanting a bigger event, Battersea Park offers much more than fireworks, with DJs, live entertainment, food and an almost festival-like atmosphere.
Whichever you choose, don’t rely on buying a ticket when you arrive. These are popular events and several explicitly advise booking in advance.
Remember, remember…
Wrap up warm, leave the car at home where possible and give yourself plenty of time to get through the gates. And if you’re taking younger children, the 6.45pm Wimbledon and Morden shows or 7pm Richmond and Sunday Battersea displays mean you can enjoy all the sparkle without the late night.
