It’s that time of the year…if you are a tennis fan, a Wimbledon visitor or resident, you’ll notice a cocktail of iconic purple and green colours, accompanied by white and yellow pops across the whole of SW19.

Summer is upon us and shops have eagerly decorated their windows in eye-catching designs, in honour of the tournament, and Wimbledon Village is in full bloom!

I visited a beautifully decorated home in Wimbledon Village (created by the same florists The Ivy Cafe Wimbledon use) the entrance is beautifully decorated in Wimbledon colours. It’s lovely to see this creativity shine through and honour the summer, the Wimbledon spirit, and the tennis championships.

Using the distinctive purple and green colour scheme of the All England Club is a brilliant choice for decoration. These colours can be found in lots of natural elements and flowers.

Wimbledon is also famous for its strict all-white dress code, which apparently stems back to the 1800s. The colour white certainly evokes an air of sophistication and purity.

Yellow is another natural choice for sure, brightening up, bringing the essential tennis ball to the scene.

The Ivy Cafe Wimbledon has for a second year (after their opening last year) outdone themselves. Hands up for the girls at Early Hours for bringing all of this beauty to our town.

Now it’s just about time to just sit back and enjoy.
