The Ivy Café has arrived in the heart of Wimbledon Village. We went along for pre-opening drinks last night and discovered that this little sister of the original Ivy restaurant in Covent Garden has all the welcome and glamour of its famous, theatre-land relative.

Hard to believe that this was once Barclay’s Bank. The interior has been transformed into a glamorous thirties salon – complete with covered courtyard at the back for warm summer nights. With gorgeous, Deco lighting, antiqued mirrors and polished parquet, it’s a great spot for lunch or dinner – and they can even do breakfast. The Ivy Café, Wimbledon Village opened its doors on 1 June 2016 giving us all time to sample its decadent cocktails, afternoon tea, and all-day café-style menu before Wimbledon fortnight sets in. If the canapés were anything to go by – we’re in for a treat!
