What a star-studded event! The Paul Strank Charitable Trust Launch hosted by the one and only Christopher Biggins, on 21 July 2016 was a night of inspiration.
As one of the trust’s ambassadors, TV legend Biggins was joined by a number of celebrity guests, including singer Pixie Lott, Apprentice star Michelle Dewberry, presenter Lara Hamilton and model Oliver Cheshire.
Guests enjoyed cocktails, wines and canapes at the luxurious Mint Leaf London restaurant.
Paul and Irene Strank have been raising money for a variety of good causes over the years; using their business, Paul Strank Roofing, as a springboard, they have helped thousands of people in and around South London, as well as the wider UK.
Their sustained fundraising efforts were recognised in 2013 with Paul receiving an MBE for services to charity and the community in the Queen’s Birthday honours list.
Through their drive and passion for helping others, it is estimated that the pair have raised, donated or sponsored more than £2m for charity and the community over the past 30 years and the Paul Strank Charitable Trust has now been set up enable their fundraising to climb to new heights.
Paul said: “Our focus has always been on the most disadvantaged in our community with a particular emphasis on helping children in need and their families so we’re thrilled to have launched the Charitable Trust – a grant making charity which will continue this ethos in providing vital funding and support to fantastic causes.”
They have supported many fantastic charities over the years including long-term chosen ones such as Children In Need and Shooting Star Chase Children’s Hospice, as well as more recent additions like the Bob Watson Foundation, Croygas Mixed Pan Youth Disability Football Club to name but a few.
The first fundraiser to be held under the new Paul Strank Charitable Trust will be the annual Paul Strank Roofing Charity Gala in September. This high profile event is held in association with AFC Wimbledon; a community-focused football club now promoted to League 1, which Paul Strank Roofing have sponsored for many years.
