As the fashion conscious amongst you may know, talented designers across the city showcased their spring/summer 2017 collections last weekend. But high fashion has a bit of a reputation for being too wacky to wear in real life.

This could be down to the fact that designers often use their shows to display artistic brilliance over ready-to-wear fashion. Which is probably why we’re often left puzzled, wondering whether we’re actually expected to wear the crazy outfits coming down the catwalk.

Luckily for you lovely ladies, we have sifted through the eccentric ensembles to find you five of the most wearable trends to come out of London Fashion Week for SS17.

Ribbon Stripes

Stripes have slowly been taking over our wardrobes, and they aren’t going anywhere for SS17. Wear yours colourful, bold and directional.

One Shoulder

The shoulder is having a moment. From cut-outs to sheer layers, they were given a lot of attention across many designer shows. We’ve seen a lot of off-shoulder this summer, but next summer’s focus shifts to the one-shoulder look.

Ruffles

There’s something so pretty and summery about ruffles. This girly look is perfect on summer dresses and dainty tops.

Eastern Minimalism

Silhouettes take inspiration from the Far East with soft, fluid shapes and wrap detailing. Shoulders are round and trouser legs are wide, but the waist is cinched in. This trend is all about casual elegance.

Iridescence

Shiny silks and pearly sheen finishes give off a subtle sparkle. This look is perfect for glistening in the sunshine with style.
