Home Decor Trends: Give Green a Go

Home Decor Trends: Give Green a Go

2017 will be the year of ‘Greenery’ according to Pantone Color Institute.

This is good news for us, because green is the most wonderful colour to play with. Green is associated with freshness, growth, new life, hope and environmentalism. We can fill our homes with greenery – and be on top of the current trends!

When it comes to the discipline of painting and decorating, the number of different shades and nuances in the green palette are endless, which makes this colour so wonderfully diverse. The paint brands do the hard work for us, as their colour charts tell us which nuances to combine to have the best results for our home.

For my walls I will opt for a more muted green than Pantone’s ‘Greenery’ shade, as I want the colour to be suitable for any season, and for it to fit in with my existing design scheme.

If you are not up to re-decorating right now, you can easily implement green into your space without any considerable effort by simply adding plants, or a few textiles with a hint of green.

As well as green, we will see earthy colours making an impact this year, such as Olive and Khaki along with Terracotta, Brick Reds and Maroon.

Charcoal and Yellow also compliment these colours perfectly.

The number one top tip when it comes to interior design, is that the trendiest home in 2017 is a home decorated in your personal style. Meaning, your personal and odd belongings are now your most trendy features, so to say.

A home should tell a story, and you are the storyteller.

Hope you feel inspired, and happy decorating!
