You frequently need more than just fast, throwaway fashion. More and more I find myself opting for comfortable, chic style, particularly in today’s world where we absolutely need it the most. Lately it’s all been about likes, comments, follows, who’s seen me, the right friends, the stylish friends, truth, post truth, *exclaiming* what’s my most attractive filter?
Exhausted? I am.
Step up hush. Strip everything back and we resort to softness, comfort and enveloping care. That’s why brands like Hush are gaining cut through in this age of paranoia; delivering relaxed chic with a pop of style through their clever classics, savvy slogans, strong stripes and new bold brights.
Having just launched their biggest, most coveted collection to date, on top of opening yet another John Lewis Concession, this time in leafy Kingston, it’s time to grab your gaggle of girlfriends and become part of the hush tribe.
Pick from their new colour-ways carefully – icy salmon hues for cooler, red based skins, and bright scarlet for warmer, yellow skin tones.
Check the length of their frayed jackets, don’t let the hem finish on the widest part of your hips, and always (always!) take the opportunity to update your wardrobe with a luxe-leather jacket.
My hero hush piece this season must be their statement jumpsuit in racing red. You can slightly distress the look with a ‘throw it on’ leather jacket…but this season try onyx, it most definitely is the new black in my eyes.
Pair hush’s boyfriend jeans with a frayed cropped jacket in off-white (try to avoid bright white if you can, far less aging for most of us) and layer over a feminine boat neck jumper.
