Brunch on a Bank Holiday is a beautiful meal to be shared with friends and family… hopefully in the sunshine! It is a perfect excuse to enjoy a delicious meal and then spend time wondering around the local shops or exploring the common.

Here are my top 5 places to go for Brunch this bank holiday weekend.

Fire Stables

I can’t hide my love for the newly refurbished Fire Stables in the Village. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is calm and sophisticated. As well as a stunning menu their drinks are super too. Is brunch to early to enjoy a cocktail? I don’t think so! For brunch I would recommend the crushed avocado on sourdough but if you are in the mood to try something a little different the Little Bird gin salmon with scrambled eggs is a must. Read my full review of the Fire Stables.

27-29 Church Rd, Wimbledon, London SW19 5DQ

The Ivy Cafe

One of the jewels of Wimbledon Village is The Ivy Cafe. Open from breakfast to dinner the restaurant serves stunning dishes all day and their brunches happen to be my favourite. Their menu covers the traditional full English breakfasts but also includes a range of light and healthy dishes but are still delicious and special to enjoy. The eggs section is my favourite and whether I have them served with smoked salmon or avocado I have never been disappointed plus the egg section includes buttermilk pancakes and you are stronger than me if you can refuse them! Due to the Ivy Cafe’s popularity you will need to book.

75 High Street, Wimbledon Village, SW19 5EQ

Hotel du Vin Cannizaro House

The Bistro at Hotel du Vin has a lovely and charming breakfast and brunch menu with a section called the Country Table which includes light and mostly healthy items perfect for the start of the day. I loved the breakfast pots especially the granola, yoghurt and berry one, that plus a some pastries and a large cup of coffee was superb. Plus the favourite for my family was the traditional breakfast. You just can’t beat it!

Cannizaro House, West Side Common, SW19 4UE

The Old Frizzle

The Old Frizzle, a brilliant restaurant and bar situated opposite the famous New Wimbledon Theatre offers a delicious brunch menu perfect for enjoying before a shopping afternoon around town. Their menu is comprises of the traditional cooked breakfasts along with usual yet tasty twists on the classic beans on toast. Their pulled BBQ pork, jokes bacon, jumbo beans and cheddar cheese on toast is monster of a meal in taste and will leave you happy for the rest of the day. Make sure you enjoy their signature Bloody Mary!

74-78 The Broadway, SW19 1RQ

Ben’s Canteen

Travel a little way out of Wimbledon to enjoy food at Ben’s Canteen in Earlsfield. The incredible restaurant and personal favourite offers a super range of dishes for brunch from the traditional full English breakfast and breakfast burrito to their trademark outstanding burgers and the popular favourite smashed avocado with pesto and tomatoes on sourdough toast. their menu caters for a vegetarians, carnivores, gluten free, those wanting a light brunch or those who are there to enjoy a large and delicious meal.
