What could be more quintessentially English for a chap than tea and cake? Since the incredible success of The Great British Bake Off, us Brits have rekindled our love for all things Radio 4 and Mary Berry. With summer fast approaching and the prospect of picnics and the ever-Wimbledon ‘strawberries and cream’ it is very much time to start thinking which bake best tickles your palette. From a citric sponge to a garish gateau the range is quite frankly endless.
So with that in mind what better way to get your cake on than at The Enormous Earlsfield Cake Off taking place this Saturday 6th May, at the Leather Bottle in Earlsfield. What’s that you say? It’s at a pub? Quite so – so more for the modern gent to enjoy – not just cake but fine ales and wines, plus a very enjoyable restaurant. Furthermore this cake extravaganza is in aid of St George’s Hospital so one can feel a warm sense of self worth whilst wolfing down barrow-loads of spongy goodness.
SO there you go – Saturday is planned. Grab your partner by the hand and head to the Leather Bottle for some charity-focused flan! See you there!
