With so much going on at London Fashion Week, it can be hard to keep up. So we’ve whittled it all down to bring you the top wearable trends from Spring Summer 2018.
Red and Rosy
If you’ve been keeping up with our blogs, you’ll already know that the hottest trend around right now is red. That includes all shades right up to the pink end of the scale.
Forget everything you thought you knew – red and pink can be worn together. Be bold and make a statement. To get away with this look it needs to be purposeful; but saying that, you can start small by matching a bold red shirt with a pair of pink shoes or pink clutch bag.
Try pairing hot pinks with cherry reds and burgundys with dusky pinks. Styling red can be tricky, so read our blog by stylist Charlotte Loves to find out exactly which shades of red will suit your skin tone.
Patches and Panels
If you’ve ever wanted to be able to style clashing prints and textures together like the fabulously fashionable, you’re in luck. With this trend, the work is done for you.
All you need to do is buy one piece and you’ll look the part. Fashion doesn’t need to be hard work.
For a slightly subtler look go for panels in the same type of print but that change direction or colour. For example a striped shirt with a panel where the stripes go the opposite way.
Romantic Ruffles
Ruffles are such a great trend for spring/summer. They’re romantic, they’re glamorous and they look great as you move. Especially in soft pastel colours, this trend is one that will come back for seasons to come.
Wear them cascading down a dress. Wear them as a peplum for a tiny waist. Wear them on sleeves or trouser legs for an accented edge.
Style It Sheer
Sheer is sexy, flirty and feminine. The perfect spring/summer look. The models on the catwalk may be braving the all-bare look but for everyday style, simply add a nude coloured vest underneath or a pretty bralette if you want to make it a style statement.
An easy way to wear this trend is by layering a sheer midi/maxi skirt over a plain sleeveless mini dress. Or go for a sheer shirt over a vest and jeans.
