They say French women don’t overdress and they certainly don’t believe you have to be perfectly coiffed. Effortless French style: It’s all in the ‘laissez faire’ attitude and quite often simple, but refined basics. A little red dress. Skinny jeans with sculpted white shirt and natty little tweed jacket or a flash of leather. A fitted Breton top or just a simple tailored black suit, maybe even paired together.

French style is a laid back affair, but always, always with a surprising edge. Biker boots with a floral dress, tuxedo jacket with a t-shirt, men’s shoes with feminine cropped pants. Classic French favourites Chanel & Marant you can’t go wrong with, but my latest French fancy this season is SAINT LAURENT.

If you want to emulate the best of the best in effortless French style, my go-to Parisian icon is actress Clemence Poesy…she sure puts the ‘sucre’ into style.
