With just under two months to go until the Wimbledon Championships begin, we’ve got our eyes and ears on the latest tennis updates.

What’s new this week?

This year sees the launch of the All England Lawn Tennis And Croquet Club’s (AELTC) first pop-up shop in Wimbledon Village. Selling a range of official products from clothing to rackets and bags, the shop will be open until the end of The Championships. Find out more about the pop-up here.

The Queue will see a modern update this year with fans receiving access to free WiFi, allowing them to watch the action live on their personal screens while they wait. And once they reach the front, there’ll be a new option for card and contactless payments available at the turnstiles.

With the environment in mind, a ban on plastic straws has been introduced. The AELTC will now use recyclable paper straws for the 2018 Wimbledon tournament. Wimbledon chief executive, Richard Lewis, announced to the press that the signage for recycling points will also be improved in an effort to encourage people to dispose of their litter appropriately.
