Day At Wimbledon Tennis

Day At Wimbledon Tennis

As a Wimbledon blogger, I am lucky to receive all sorts of gifts to try. The Christy box, however, was an extra special parcel to open on the first day of Wimbledon fortnight. Inside were his and her bath towels with ‘Lady Wimbledon’ embroidered into both.

Having official Christy Home bath towels in my bathroom was such a treat and I immediately ran myself a deep warm bubble bath.

The next day, I received a DM from @Christy_Home inviting me to watch the tennis with them and three other bloggers on the middle Saturday on Centre Court.

It was such a beautiful hot day. The previous day I had found a tennis green dress from & Other Stories at the Bentall Centre in Kingston and clashed it with purple and yellow nails. I didn’t realise I looked like the entry ticket until I had it in my hand.

Living 10 minutes away from the courts, I was still last to arrive but was delighted to meet bloggers Feathering The Empty Nest, Coco’s Tea Party and Getting Stuff Done In Heels.

After entering the grounds, we headed straight for lunch and Pimm’s. I was delighted to see Nadal was playing Alex De Minaur. Although grateful we sat in the shade, we still took it in turns to use the one fan we had between us. I did smile watching Nadal wipe his brow with the same towels I used this morning, and day dreamed a little of lending him my Lady Wimbledon ones.

Once Nadal had beaten De Minaur in two sets, some of us decided to take the opportunity to head to the Rose and Crown in Wimbledon Village to watch the second half of England playing Columbia in the World Cup.

What we soon realised when queuing to get wrist bands to be let back in, was that half the stadium had the same idea.

It was an incredible moment to see England win and with the pubs packed, we decided to retreat to civilisation in Centre Court to watch Djokovic play the English favourite Kyle Edmund.

We had high hopes for Edmund who started strong but by the second set started showing little hope of defeating the mighty Djokovic.

After copious amounts of Pimm’s and water, it was time to say our goodbyes and go home. It was at that moment I bumped into friends and we spent the summer evening in the food market of the Wimbledon grounds until the sun went down.

It was a glorious day and one I will always remember, especially every time I have a bath and use my own personalised Christy towels.
