The Wimbledon International Music Festival is returning this year to celebrate its 10th Anniversary in what will be one of the capital’s major autumn events.
‘Looking Forward – Looking Back’ will the be the theme of this year’s festival capturing the WIMF’s successful past and even brighter future. This grandiose event is set to run from the 10th till the 25th November showcasing 18 concerts.

Chineke! Ensemble
Chineke! was originally founded to champion change as well as celebrate ethnic diversity. Since its inception, by founder Chi-chi Nwanoku, Chineke! has gone on to inspire and empower through its incredible performances at the BBC proms, the Southbank and Bridgewater Hall.

Mahan Esfahani
Since the Iranian-American virtuoso’s debut in London in 2009 Mahan Esfahani has worked tirelessly to bring the harpsichord into the public eye and establish it within the mainstream of concert instruments. He was the first to perform a harpsichord recital in the history of the BBC proms in 2011 and returns this year to WIMF to ignite his same passion in all who will listen.

Grand Union Orchestra – Family Concerts
Master musicians from the Grand Union Orchestra will be bringing instruments and music from all corners of the globe including: Chinese court music, Indian ragas and talas, South African township music, West African drumming and chant to reggae, calypso and ska from the Caribbean as well as Latin-American salsa and samba. While this show will be ram packed not a single person will be able to sit still.

Trio Martinů
Formed at the Prague Conservatoire in 1990 Trio Martinů have remained unchanged since 1993. The line-up, consisting of Jaroslav Matějka – on the cello, Pavel Šafařík – on the violin and Petr Jiříkovský – on the piano, have embarked on a journey full of success and awards. This year the Trio is joined by Malcom Messiter on the oboe.

The Wimbledon Festival Virtuosi
All eight performers are celebrated for their outstanding skill and together they form The Wimbledon Festival Virtuosi whom have previously delighted audiences and shall revisit major festival commissions.
