Autumn looks after our wellbeing. She lovingly carries us from our long hot summer and eases us into stunning white winter. It’s a time for change, and to focus on oneself.
Think of all the lovely things about this time of year. Fresh mornings. Rich sunsets. Chunky knits. Long walks and Sunday lunches. Great TV. Deep red manicures. Feather duvets. Soup season. Lots of candles. Seeing friends. Hot baths and early nights.
It is the time of year that lends itself beautifully to making small, easy to do resolutions. Unlike dark, stark and treacherously long January which marks the beginning of a new calendar year and when we tend to make ‘New Years Resolutions’; October, Autumn, is kind in temperature and in daylight hours making it easier to feel positive, spritely and ambitious about actually making these changes happen.
We’re refreshed after our holidays and ready for new possibilities.
Read the book. Put on your trainers and go on the run. Learn a new language. Revamp your wardrobe, as Lady Wimbledon said to us this week ‘dress as the person you want to be’. Go about making life choices that increases your happiness. Whatever makes you feel good – take it on. Let’s go into the coming months with a sense of contentment and achievement.
Now’s our moment.
