September and October have flown by which means we are firmly rooted in Autumn. Yet, instead of mourning the loss of longer days and heatwaves, let us instead look forward to this season’s cosy trends and striking beauty looks.
I love Autumn! I don’t know why, maybe because I’m an October baby, but it is my favourite time of year. The colours in nature are so vibrant, the reds, oranges are so deep and warm and I feel there is a golden glow from the Autumnal sun. This is the same for makeup and nails, there are so many rich colours out there so I have picked a few of my favourites to keep the colours bright and vivid right through to winter.
Lips
Lips are a fantastic way to add colour so why not make the most of seasonal palettes, from deep reds, burgundies and plums. For those dark wintery nights opt for this gorgeous deep red lipstick from MDMFlow so aptly named Vamp.
If you want the colour but not sure a statement lip is your thing, then Dr Lipp’s Moisturising Lip Tint is a really lovely way to add a hint of colour without it being too over bearing, perfect for wearing throughout the day.
Nails
I love a dark nail! It is one of the most popular requests this time of the year. Kure Bazaar is a brand from Paris which we often use at the shows at Paris and London Fashion Week. I love this nail lacquer in the heart-warming tone, Cherie.
If you don’t want to go dark then go for gold – I love adding sparkle, and this is more subtle than full on glitter, but will still make you smile. I’m currently wearing ‘Or Royal‘ on my toes, and it always makes me smile when I see them.
Eyes
Add a new layer of mystery to your eyes this festive season with this new palette from Memi. It has the most beautiful Autumnal selection of colours. It literally looks like it is designed around Autumn. I have been wearing the colour ‘Iconic’ on my eyes during the day and then using the darker colours to turn it into an evening look.
However you decide to reinvent yourself this festive season, do so with love and a little sparkle.
