New Years’ Eve at Cannizaro House, Wimbledon with Lady Wimbledon and the Eyes of Lady Wimbledon bloggers team is nothing short of a glamorous event.
Cannizaro House, Wimbledon warmly welcomed the Eyes of Lady Wimbledon bloggers team, and Lady Wimbledon herself, for an afternoon of exquisite dining featuring their New Years’ Eve Gala menu.
As a special treat Cannizaro House, Wimbledon is offering a special festive promotion for anyone making a reservation between the 31st December 2018 and 1st January 2019. Quote ‘LadyW’ and receive a complimentary glass of champagne per person on any reservations in the restaurant and private function spaces.
While the team came to celebrate the ending of one chapter and looked forward to the beginning of a new one we were all delighted to discover that the Chef had prepared a royal feast for us. It was, in fact, the official premiere of this New Years’ Eve Gala banquet.
Arriving at the Belle Epoc private room a waiter was on hand to settle the team in and handed out delicious non-alcoholic fruity cocktails.
The Belle Epoc private room can be used for corporate dinners or opened up to host families with the option of having access to the gorgeous garden outside. For this occasion, it has been transformed to host Lady Wimbledon and the Eyes of Lady Wimbledon team.
Festive accents of gold and red sparkled across the room from the personalised crackers on the tables to the vines or red berries adorning the bar.
Cannizaro House, Wimbledon has a range of private rooms and this one comes with its own bar and you can rest assured you’ll be looked after by your very own waiter.
To start the wonderful staff at Cannizaro House, Wimbledon brought out a beautifully presented prawn and scallops starter.
For a vegetarian option, the Chef flexed his culinary mastery by creating an outstanding dish of Sauteed Mushrooms on Brioche toast with Madeira Cream on the day. As part of their menu, the restaurant will be serving Leeks Vinaigrette and Fourme D’Ambert Cheese salad.
Proceeded by the main event, a traditional Scottish Beef Wellington wrapped in mushroom duxelle, spinach, crepes and golden puff pastry served with traditional roast vegetables and a wine-infused gravy.
For a vegetarian option, the Chef prepared a Squash and Lentil Wellington with Kale Pesto. The New Years’ Eve menu includes a vegetarian alternative of Baked Provencal Tomato coulis served with basil oil and selection of seasonal vegetables.
Lastly, the grand finale arrived in the form of a mind-blowing Rhum Baba, served with Creme Chantilly, topped with Bacardi Rum poured over everyone’s desserts individually.
Once everyone was sated with their desserts we took a moment to pull the Chef out of the kitchen to personally thank him for preparing the ultimate New Years’ Eve meal for us.
