At the 2019 Wimbledon Tennis Party, we chose to support an incredible local charity that is close to many of our hearts… Polka, the first theatre in the UK dedicated exclusively to children. Last night’s raffle was kindly supported by our guests and local businesses who generously donated prizes – find out if you were one of the lucky winners below…
Based in Wimbledon since 1979, the Polka Theatre is currently undergoing a much-needed, chance-of-a-lifetime redevelopment of its building, for which £650,000 is still needed. Their plans include the creation of an extended adventure theatre, a multi-sensory garden, and an indoor and outdoor play area that all children will be welcome to explore and enjoy.
Polka is for every child, whatever their background or ability. They offer a wide programme of free and subsidised theatre for local communities, to ensure everyone can experience live theatre. For many children, Polka is where theatre begins. This exciting redevelopment will bring a vibrant hub for future generations, right to the heart of our community.
