From summer fairs and mini golf to a Family Rave and a Tiger Who Came to Tea, we’ve got a weekend packed full of fantastic activities for you! Wimbledon Kids Editors Harriet O’Connor and Leela Evans round up the pick of this week’s family fun in Wimbledon and beyond…
THE TIGER WHO CAME TO TEA – LIVE ON STAGE!
Adapted and directed by David Wood, this stunning musical is based on the late Judith Kerr’s first book and gives us the perfect opportunity to celebrate the life of an incredible and much-loved author. With kid-friendly matinee and morning performances on Sunday, it’d be a fun way to start Father’s Day, too.
Following a smash-hit West End season, the tea-guzzling tiger is back on the road and is heading to SW19 in this delightful family show, packed with oodles of magic, sing-a-long songs and clumsy chaos! Head to the New Wimbledon Theatre to catch a dazzling stage adaptation of the classic tale of teatime mayhem… expect to be surprised!
When: Fri 14 –Sun 16 June; Friday matinee, 1.30pm; Sat/Sun, 11am and 2pm.
Where: New Wimbledon Theatre, The Broadway, London, SW19 1QG
Booking: Tickets from £14; book tickets online here or from the theatre box office.

BABY BROADWAY SINGALONG FAMILY CONCERT
A great one for Wombles old and young. The whole family can sing and dance along to a selection of well-known songs from hit shows and films such as The Sound of Music, Dumbo, Mary Poppins, La La Land, Frozen and many more!
As well as singing, clapping and dancing along, you can expect bubbles, scarves, marching, actions and puppetry. Join in as much (or as little) as you want to in an interactive family concert performed by West End singers and a live pianist.
When: Friday 14 June, 11am
Where: Holy Trinity Church, 234 The Broadway, Wimbledon, SW19 1SB
Booking: Tickets are £10 per adult (plus booking fee when booking online); children go FREE (up to three with each paying adult). Book tickets here >

TINY DANCERS FAMILY RAVE
We couldn’t be happier to hear that Tiny Dancers are back in Wimbledon for an afternoon of Old Skool classics played by resident DJ JOY ALARM – and due to popular demand they’ve increased their capacity.
The event sees local nightclub Tunnel 267 turn into a family-friendly rave space, and promises balloons, confetti cannons, glow sticks, stickers, a craft table, bubble machines, face-painting, inflatables, a hula-hoopist, and of course, banging tunes! If you’re planning on going, snap up your tickets quickly, as this popular family event always sells out fast. Dance the day away and still be home in time for tea!
When: Saturday 15 June, 2pm – 4pm
Where: Tunnel 267, 267 The Broadway, Wimbledon, SW19 1SD
Booking: Tickets, £6. Book tickets here >
More information: The event is pitched at families with young children aged 8 or under, but everyone’s welcome. Babies under 12 months go free, but still require a ticket. Find out more at tinydancersevents.com
