Looking for some Half Term inspiration? There’s so much going on in Wimbledon for kids this October, with plenty of Halloween fun and activities to keep the children busy…

Wimbledon Pumpkin Picking Patch

Enjoy the magic of choosing your own special Halloween pumpkin to take home and decorate right here in Wimbledon! ‘Pumpkin Picking Patch’ is coming to Wimbledon Park this Halloween for some half term family fun – with wheelbarrows to be pushed, plenty of pumpkin varieties to be discovered and Halloween crafts and activities.

Help the children find their pumpkin, make magic wands, broomsticks or spiders webs, then grab some tasty treats at the Pumpkin Cafe. This is definitely a must for a half term day out for the kids in Wimbledon!

Scarecrow Trail/Pumpkin carving at Morden Hall Park

Drop in to the Stableyard at Morden Hall Park to pick your pumpkin, create your crazy carving and light it with an LED tea-light candle. Then chuck on your wellies and go on the hunt for clues on the new scarecrow trail!

Wilton Tennis Club Half Term Camp

Keep the kids happy and active this half term at Wilton Tennis Club’s popular holiday tennis camps. Catering for a wide range of ages (3-14 years old) and experience, you can pop them in for a few hours or the full day.

Half Term Activities at the New Wimbledon Theatre Studio with the Polka Theatre

This Half Term, the Polka Theatre will be taking over New Wimbledon Theatre Studio with an amazing range of workshops for all ages.

Create a Space Puppet Show – Tuesday 22 October 10:30-3:30pm, Ages 6-9

Celebrating 50 years since the first moon landing, the children will travel to the moon and beyond and learn all about different styles of puppetry – and even create their own puppet for an out of this world space performance!

Behind the Scenes: An Actors Life – Wednesday 23 October 10:30-3:30pm, Ages 9-12

Calling all budding actors! Spend the day with one of Polka’s professional directors playing drama games, exploring acting techniques and exercises and working with Polka scripts. There will be a short performance for family and friends at the end of the day.

Storming Stomp: Movement Workshop – Thursday 24 October 10:30-3:30pm, Ages 6-9

If your kids love dance they will love this workshop! Stomp, jump and romp through a day full of dance and movement with a professional dancer, they will get the chance to create their own dance routines and share them with family and friends at the end of the day

Autumn Leaves: Storytelling Workshops – Friday 25 October, click here for times/age groups

Perfect for getting into the Autumn mood, the cosy warmth of the new Wimbledon Studio is the ideal spot for some charming autumn stories, along with drama games and craft making.

Children’s Halloween Pumpkin Hunt at Wimbledon Common

Get out into the great outdoors this half term with a Halloween pumpkin hunt at the beautiful Wimbledon Common! Find the hidden pumpkins around the Nature Trail – collect all the clues and work out the secret answers, plenty of prizes to be won and a Halloween-themed Colouring Competition in the Information Centre.

When: 21-26 October

Geeky Kids Half Term Coding Club

Geeky Kids is a coding club for children aged 6–16. They run a wide variety of coding courses for children in Wimbledon, Twickenham and Epsom. They have been teaching children about computer science and coding in an interactive way since early 2016. Lessons are designed to be as engaging as possible and classes are small so children get lots of individual attention. All of this ensures that the children remain stimulated at all times.

Geeky Kids believe coding for kids is more fun and accessible than ever and they love empowering children with this amazing skill. The team at Geeky Kids are always working hard to keep existing courses up to date and developing material for new courses. They now have one of the most varied and comprehensive coding course curriculum in the London area and will continue to create more content for their amazing students. All teachers are DBS checked.

Half Term Activities at Willow Bough Tea Rooms

Halloween biscuit decorating for kids, Tuesday 22 October 10.30-11.30am

Creative kids will love this spooky workshop decorating Halloween-themed biscuits (ghost, pumpkin, bat, and cat) with sprinkles and icing. Children can take their biscuits home in a box to share with friends and family.

Scone making for children (aged 5+), Wednesday 23 October, 10.30-11.30am

Join Clare for this fun half-term workshop learning how to make scones. Children will be given all the tuition and materials they need to get sticky hands as they make their own scones, with a variety of flavours and shapes to try!

Halloween cupcake decorating for kids (aged 9+), Thursday 24 October, 10.30am-midday

A brilliant spooky cupcake decorating workshop for older kids – they will learn how to decorate their cupcakes to look like a zombie, a black cat, a pumpkin, and a spider. All tuition and materials provided, along with a drink. Children will leave the workshop with a box of four decorated cupcakes.

Scones from scratch workshop for children (aged 9+), Friday 25 October, 10.30-11.30am

For your older budding bakers, join Clare at the lovely Willow Bough Tea Rooms for this scone making masterclass. Children will be given all the tuition and materials they need to get sticky hands as they make their own scones from scratch, learning how to make a traditional scone dough, with a variety of flavours and shapes to try.

Tiny Dancers Family Rave Halloween Special

Tiny Dancers Family Rave is back at the Tunnel 267 club for a Halloween Special! Resident DJs will be playing all the old skool tunes you know and love, as well as a good splattering of halloween themed tunes.

Get in the mood and dress the whole family up in your best Halloween outfits to be in with a chance of winning the ‘Best Fancy Dress’ competition. The kids will also love a fantastic range of Halloween inspired activities, including crafts, free glow sticks and stickers, glitter face painting, balloons, bubble machines, confetti cannons, and colouring in wall murals.

Rave the afternoon away this Halloween and still be home by dinner time!

Halloween Blood & Gutsfest

The annual family-friendly events at the Old Ruts Rugby Club are always hugely popular and great fun! This Halloween there will be 2 stages for local live bands, food and fireworks – and go to town on the Halloween dress up, you won’t be alone!
