Create A Special Space For You This February; The Month Of Self Love

February is the month of love. You deserve your love and affection as much as anybody so let’s make it the month of self-love.

It’s all about you! Do more of what makes you feel good. Here’s something to gift to yourself which takes minimal effort yet gives maximum impact: create a special space in your home just for you.

This special space is going to be relaxing, personal and feel so indulgent. It is somewhere you can retreat to when you want to feel mindful and be kind to yourself.

Escape here to reflect on happy memories, or reconnect with yourself when you need a moment of ‘aaahhh’.

I try to think of it as a place where nothing else in the world matters, except for me.

I love my self-love space and think everyone should create one in their home. It’s easy to design; just choose your favourite chair and possessions to make it unique to you.

How To Create Your Special Space 

Here are my top five tips to make an enticing, comfortable and personal place, just for you, in your home…

Lighting

Flood with natural light from a window, or a softly lit lamp and gentle flicker from a candle.

Sound

Unplug and absorb the noises around you. When there’s sunshine there’s birdsong, when there’s rain there are raindrops. Let this soothe you.

Texture

Soften the setting with natural materials, handwoven throws, plump cushions.

Taste & Scent

Accompany the moment with a cup of herbal tea, flowers, elegantly scented candles or diffusers.

Imagination

Bundle books, lovely handwritten letters, a notepad and pen ready to write or draw. Maybe an inquisitive puppy to watch adoringly!

Where better in the world to retreat to in the month of love than in your own divine space with a few carefully selected objects?
