Common ground launches flexi offices in Wimbledon Village

Wimbledon Village’s first coworking space, Common Ground by Spacemade, to open on 3rd May

Common Ground, a boutique new coworking hub, opened their doors on 3rd May – providing Wimbledon Village with its first ever flexible workspace.

The building occupies a premium spot on Wimbledon High Street and is operated by Spacemade, the leading flexible workspace operator.

Common Ground provides Wimbledon locals with a hyper-flexible space that works for them – with 24/7 access, a variety of membership packages, free fast Wifi and a dedicated community manager. The workspace will also be pet-friendly and have both bike storage and car parking.

The building caters for all types of businesses and entrepreneurs, with private offices, meeting rooms and open plan coworking that feels like a private members’ club.

High-quality amenities on offer include phone booths, virtual meeting rooms and a stylish octagonal lounge area where members can relax together. The kitchen has unlimited free teas and coffee and showers for those arriving by bike.

Spacemade has a strong focus on supporting the communities in which it operates and so Common Ground will have unlimited locally sourced coffee by Volcano Coffee. It will host a variety of events, including community socials, business talks, and networking events

The 5500 sq ft space will go some way to meeting demand from locals to “work near home”. Research by Accenture of 10,000 works globally shows that more than three-quarters of people want a “third place” to work that is outside of their homes and the traditional office.

Jonny Rosenblatt, co-founder at Spacemade said

“Common Ground is a unique offering for Wimbledon Village – with beautiful, well-designed spaces, high-quality amenities and a fantastic location on the High Street. We believe there is no longer a one-size-fits-all approach to the office and have designed a workspace that truly meets the needs of the surrounding community, while bringing the level of quality you’d expect from central London into Wimbledon.

We have already been flooded with enquiries from businesses wanting to take space at Common Ground. Some of the offices are already signed or under offer to local businesses and we’ve had a good number of sign-ups for the coworking – showing there is strong demand from people in the area to work closer to home. At Spacemade we have plenty of experience in creating bespoke neighbourhood workspaces and are already the largest operator in this field in the country.”

New members at Common Ground will benefit from being part of Spacemade’s existing network of bespoke workspaces across the UK. Since launching at the end of 2019, the group has successfully delivered seven flexible workspaces in London and Leeds and is continuing to expand its network rapidly. In early April, Spacemade confirmed its latest space, 10 Brindley Place in Birmingham, in partnership with CBRE.

The group’s other locations include The Loft, an aspirational workspace in Queen’s Park, and Neighbourhood Works, a vibrant community work hub in London Fields.

Prices at Common Ground start from £89 per month for coworking membership. To find out more:  www.commongroundSW19.com or call Ainsley Sutherland 0204 512 6562 or ainsley@spacemade.co
