George’s Dog Boutique is designed to offer an elevated grooming experience to the cherished pooches of SW19. Providing conscious, sustainable products, the highest standards of practice, and a cosy, stylish setting, everything has been designed to put pooches (and their humans) at ease, with a service both will want to return to again and again.
Created by local resident of five years Marina Norman, who became an award-winning dog groomer following a successful career in the fashion industry, George’s Dog Boutique incorporates full-service grooming and spa treatments (which will be available from January) with a boutique shop of brands carefully selected for their high quality and design values. With its mid-century interior and warm earthy tones on the walls and soft furnishings George’s Dog Boutique looks like the newest on-trend salon in town, but of course the pampered clientele here is of the four-legged variety; living their best lives in London’s newest luxury dog spa and boutique.
In searching for a dog groomer that suited both her and beloved poodle George; somewhere comfortable that offered not just grooming treatments but a well-rounded stock of great products, Marina was inspired to create something different tailored to both pup, and owner. There is a dog friendly waiting room, with chic and comfortable custom-made velvet dog chairs. A colour palette of lime wash, mustard, and dark mahogany, with monochrome sketch pattern tiling has created an elegant but relaxed look and feel throughout. From the waiting room, the dogs will be taken through to the treatment area that has been designed with comfort in mind, putting our canine family members at ease – as they should be, whilst mummy or daddy can peruse the selection of products, including Nordog, Tadazhi, Pino Pets, Hugo and Co. Treats, Wild For Dogs, Maxbone, Paco & Lucia, Lieblingspforte, Jaegr Dogwear, DOG by Dr Lisa, Teddy London, The Rockster and Wildwash Natural Pet Care.
Marina Norman said of the launch, “I’m very excited to bring George’s Dog Boutique to Wimbledon Village, where dogs are such a huge part of everyday life. I’ve had so much fun selecting the brands and products we are going to stock and of course, planning the dream salon I always wanted for George. Every member of staff has also been carefully handpicked, each highly talented, with a passion for what they do – and for dogs. We’ve created something that is beautiful, but also fun and relaxing for dogs and owners and we are all very proud.”
George’s Dog Boutique offers a bespoke approach to each dog, and includes a complementary consultation with the head groomer to discuss the dog’s requirements and styling preferences. Full service treatments range from £80 to £190 depending on breed, and include a range of packages such as:
The Full Package:
Everything your dog needs to look and feel great from nose to tail. A warm bath with two shampoos, a brush-out and fluff dry by hand. Nails clipped, ears and eyes cleaned and fully styled according to your preference. Finished with a touch of doggy fragrance of your choice.
Bath and Go:
For the dog on the go in need of a quick refresh. A warm bath with two rounds of shampoo followed by a thorough towel dry. Great for a busy dog on the go and in between grooms to keep them feeling (and smelling) fresh wherever their day takes them.
Bath, Fluff Dry and Tidy:
All the goodness of a bath and fluff dry with an extra touch. We’ll tidy up to the feet, ears and tail to keep your pup looking smart until their next groom.
The Full Package – Hand Strip:
A full groom for dogs that need a hand strip to remove the unwanted coat, leaving your dog looking perfectly smooth, allowing for the coat to grow back in great condition and better each time.
Bath and Fluff Dry:
A little pick me up and that ‘fresh from the salon’ feeling. A warm bath, two shampoos, a full brush out and fluff dry by hand, finished off with a spritz of your chosen doggy fragrance. Perfect in between grooms to keep tangles at bay and for your dog to look and feel great.
Marina Norman, an award-winning groomer grew up in France, surrounded by animals, helping on the farm and taking part in show-jumping competitions. After moving to the UK, Marina completed a Bachelor’s degree at King’s College London studying Politics and Spanish. She then worked in the heart of the fashion industry, at the head office for labels Burberry, Yawn – a boutique nightwear brand – and Michael Kors. Marina decided to set up her own business, opening a high-end dog grooming salon and boutique having trained to be a fully qualified City & Guilds professional groomer, completing her exams with merit, she takes part in dog grooming competitions and is passionate about continuing her learning, including studying dog behaviour and animal welfare. Marina decided to open George’s Dog Boutique in Wimbledon Village when she couldn’t find anywhere to take George, her standard poodle, in lockdown. Having lived in Wimbledon village for nearly 6 years, she understands the love for animals in the area and the importance they have in locals’ lives. Marina’s next plan is to open an animal sanctuary for dogs.
