Posted by Eyes of Lady Wimbledon | 28 February 2025 | Guide to Wimbledon, Tennis Talk

The Wimbledon Championships return to SW19 this summer for their 138th edition, from 30 June to 13 July 2025, for another exhilarating two weeks of world-class tennis on the iconic grass courts of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

Key Tournament Dates and Schedule

The 2025 Championships span 14 days, commencing on Monday 30th June, and wrapping up on Sunday 13th July. Here are the key dates:

Ticketing Information

As ever, matches will be broadcast across the BBC. But for enthusiasts eager to witness the action live, and with the 2025 ballot already closed, consider these avenues:

  • The Queue: Joining the infamous “Queue” provides an opportunity to purchase tickets on the day of play. This unique experience often involves early arrival and patience but is a cherished tradition for many fans.
  • Hospitality Packages: For a premium experience, hospitality packages offer exclusive amenities alongside prime seating.

Player Highlights

As the tournament approaches, all eyes will be on the defending champions and emerging talents. The 2024 Gentlemen’s Singles champion, Carlos Alcaraz, and the Ladies’ Singles champion, Barbora Krejčíková, are both expected to return to defend their titles.

Notable Changes in 2025

Starting with the 2025 Championships, all in-person line judges will be replaced by an electronic line-calling system for the first time in the tournament’s 147-year history, to enhance accuracy and reduce human error.

Traditions and Experience

Wimbledon is celebrated not only for its top-tier tennis but also for its rich traditions; strawberries and cream are, of course, a classic treat synonymous with the event, and while there’s no formal dress code for spectators, smart casual attire is customary.

Plan Your Visit

London sees a surge in visitors during the Championships. Booking accommodation and travel well in advance ensures proximity and convenience.

To make the most of your Wimbledon experience, we advise regularly checking the official Wimbledon website for updates on tickets, match schedules, and player announcements.
