It’s time to give the floral arrangements in your home a rethink. A wave of minimalism has been hanging over us for too long, so let’s “over do” it. A world without flowers would be rather dull after all. Let your creations take centre stage at your dinner party, your lunch, your hallway, or even your living room.

Here are my top 5 tips when creating a fashionable flower display.

1 ) Use flowers with different heights and let them playfully float out of the vase.

2 ) Use the biggest vase or container. Do not squeeze flowers into small containers with a narrow opening.

3 ) Make your bouquet taller than its container by about one and a half times. Also, make the width balance the height.

4 ) Wow your guests and make an effort when planning. What colour theme do you have in mind – perhaps it’s multiple colours, one colour or maybe three. You’re the boss!

5 ) Be creative and turn your table into an experience. Linen table cloths and linen napkins make it easy to layer up and create an informal yet stylish look. Don’t worry, no ironing is required! Linen looks best as it is, straight from your dryer.

Remember to keep flowers away from sunlight and heating vents. Recut the stems and add water often, and they are guaranteed to look their best!
