Does underwear as outerwear make you run in the opposite direction? Will you bare your bralette or keep it slightly more under wraps, a few lace edges peeping out to show off your feminine side? (remembering to steer clear of the peep show look of course…)
It could be seen as a trend for the brave – wearing them on top of T’s or on their own (a la Kendall and Cara) but my tip for feminine appeal without salacious overload is to layer under a lace top, blazer or shirt. It softens and updates the popular androgynous boyfriend jean/masculine shirt look too.
If you need extra support, like me (wink wink) my recommendation is to layer the bralette over your underwired bra and if you’re tall and tend to create sharp silhouettes, pair with high waisted, wide leg trousers trousers and a cinched in leather or bell sleeve tailored jacket.
What’s more, it’s a trend that won’t break the bank, cost per wear is ridiculously low due to the plethora of styling options. Prices range from £8 upwards – making it a trend for everyone on any budget.
To max out on your choice, shade selection is crucial unless you opt for lacy black, warm soft peaches and corals for warm toned skins with yellow undertones. Icy, faded shades for colder toned skins. They look uber-cool on bronzed skin, so get that Balearic holiday booked right now.
