10 days to go to my wedding and I have spent the whole day feeling so stressed! Thank goodness I was booked in for a treatment at Guinot Salon in Earlsfield.
Guinot came to the UK from France 50 years ago and they have designed exclusive and innovative treatment methods that have conquered the hearts of women all over the world. They now have over 10,000 spas and salons globally, I can’t believe I had never been to visit before! They are well-known, respected and famous for their ground-breaking research and result driven treatments and I couldn’t wait to try them for myself.
I loved the salon the second I walked in, it’s very professional and looks as though you are going into a clinic – you know some serious treatments will be going on here. Plus their signature colour is bright pink, my guilty pleasure. The beauty therapists all looked great and very smart in their white and pink uniforms.
I was seeing Justyna who has been working with the Guinot brand for almost 7 years treating journalists, celebrities and high profile clients. She says “I wanted to bring outstanding treatments, a caring and attentive team of therapists, and wonderful customer service to a high street salon, as everyone deserves a bit of luxury.” And I can assure you she did exactly that for me!
I was having their signature treatment which is a customised rehydrating and regenerating Hydraderm Cellular Energy facial, which uses galvanic and thermal energy electrotherapy. I love that the treatment is customised to each person so you get exactly what your skin needs. It is available in the following eight versions:
- Moisturising
- Purifying
- Anti-Wrinkle
- Age Logic Anti- Ageing
- Nourishing
- Brightening
- Soothing
- Sun Preparation/ Repair
So your therapist will give you a full consultation to decide which is best for you. There is a lot of highly scientific research which goes into these facials with the main points being:
- Double ionisation: exclusive to Guinot and a method they use for quick and effective absorption of active ingredients in the skin.
- Oxygenation: to revive skin’s radiance by boosting the oxygenation of cells and the skin’s microcirculation.
- Relaxing massage and serum: intense relaxation leaving the skin glowing with renewed radiance.
Guinot explain the results to be:
- The skin is radiant and luminous
- The face appears extremely rested
- The skin is more supple and more comfortable
So after my consultation I was taken downstairs into a private room, again beautifully set up and perfectly clean. I got comfy on the most amazing couch, which moves into the perfect position to relax and support your back (as I suffer from lower back problems it is quite hard to lie down flat on your back for any length of time so this was perfect for me).
I was already feeling so much more relaxed! The treatment began and Justyna was giving me lots of great information about the facial and the products she was using. She recommends for ‘brides to be’ to visit the salon 6 months prior to your wedding day, this is so they can decide on the best course of treatments for you.
Often you wont need any treatments for a couple of months or weeks before, like I didn’t, but it is always best to know in advance rather than leave it too late. She also told me if you do get a spot just before the wedding day then do not use typical spot treatments which dry the spot out as this will cause the skin to be flaky and then the makeup could flake off, so instead use coconut oil to keep it soft and this will be much easier to cover with makeup. Another great use for my all-time favourite coconut oil.
I mentioned how I was planning on doing a Juice Detox before the big day, and Justyna pointed out to me that this was not recommended as detoxing can cause your skin to can break out due to the toxins leaving your body, so I have still been drinking my coffee this week.
The treatment is only supposed to last an hour but I honestly felt like I was lying there for ages, I was so relaxed and I was even drifting off. It was a great break from all the stresses that I had been dealing with that day, and felt totally rejuvenated by the end. I asked Justyna to take a photo of me and could not believe how glowing my skin looked, even without a filter.
I felt so great I wanted to give her a hug! It then got even better when I was given a bag of samples to try out, there was no pressure to buy anything which is a breath of fresh air compared to many places that go in for the hard sale, and all the samples have been wonderful, so watch out for a blog on these soon.
On the way home I popped into a couple of friend’s homes and they both commented on how beautiful I looked even though I didn’t have an ounce of makeup on, which is a massive shock because normally when I don’t wear makeup people ask me if I am feeling ill…
I would highly recommend a visit to the Guinot Salon even if you don’t have a big event coming up but just want to get your skin looking and feeling great, or if you just need a bit of time to relax, rejuvenate and de-stress.
I will be back visiting the Guinot Salon before my honeymoon to try out their Technispa (Slimming Anti Cellular Treatment) before I have to bare all in a bikini. They have lots of great treatments which you can find out more about here: http://www.guinotearlsfield.guinot.com
