Make Time For You This Christmas

Make Time For You This Christmas

If Christmas is about love, as it’s often said to be, that must include self-love.

While socialising with friends, family and other loved ones plays its part at Christmas, it’s also essential to make time to simply be “with yourself”, to give yourself love and self-care. So here are 10 ideas for ‘me’ time this festive season.

1. Watch a film at home with those special chocolate biscuits and an indulgent hot chocolate in your favourite mug.

2. Practice gratitude. Spend some time writing meaningful messages in your thank you letters.

3. Have an extra long bubble bath. Try out a new candle or bath foam.

4. Take a walk in the woods or by the sea.

5. Treat yourself to lunch out. It’ll be a nice break if you’re doing the cooking this Christmas!

6. Have a nap. Snuggly socks and chunky throw most definitely needed.

7. Buy something pretty like underwear, nail varnish or flowers.

8. Catch up on your reading. Find a good book or those magazines you’ve been too busy to flick through.

9. Reconnect with a friend. Call someone you haven’t talked to in a while.

10. Get arty. Try your hand at something new, like knitting, painting ceramics or making jewellery.

And remember: You are enough. You do enough. You have enough. Christmas is not a competition. Have fun however you want. Just make sure you’re good to yourself.
