A touch of romance, a sprinkle of celebrities, and many kind hearts made for a magical charity Love Ball.
This Valentine’s, Lady Wimbledon and Celeb FC – an agency formed by Karin Flower that organises celebrities and influencers to play football and attend events for charities – organised a Love Ball to help raise money for local charity, Wimbledon Guild who require more funding for carers to look after the elderly suffering from isolation in our borough.
Charitable celebrity guests from the agency included Celebrity Big Brother’s Marlon Wallen, boyband The Risk’s Derry Mensah, urban music artist Jay Millz, Vaughan from V3 TV Network and celebrity lookalikes, Simon Cowell and Mrs Brown.
The event also hosted the Eyes of Lady W bloggers, local press Darling Magazine, vlogger Being Mr Brown, ITV broadcaster Grant Bickell and hip hop artist Lord TCO.
NC Supper Clubs, who have recently been shortlisted in the category “best pop-up” in London’s largest food and drink magazine, Foodism, brought Executive Chef Arup Dasgupta and his team from a 5-star London hotel, to serve guests the ultimate modern European and pan Asian canapé creations.
On the menu were beetroot crisps with goat’s cheese, hoison duck with watermelon, venison profiteroles and a tofu, coconut and cashew crumble. For the sweet option there were chocolates filled with passion fruit mousse and coconut jelly made from Jeeva Naturals coconut water. Once again there was a spectacular cake creation custom designed for NC Supper Clubs by Beck’s Bake. All went down perfectly with a pink fizz by Hannibal Brown.
Beautifully romantic flowers by Brian Kirkby decorated the room and a magic mirror by Taylored Events enchanted guests who were able to create and print themed photographs with digital backdrops and props on the night. Along with the mirror, there was a beautiful candy cart offering pick and mix treats.
During the evening, live music was performed by So Sinatra, a Frank Sinatra tribute artist who has performed throughout the UK, Europe and Dubai. His melodious voice set the mood in the room and kept everyone in high spirits – with Lady Wimbledon and Being Mr Brown taking the stage for an old school dance to ‘The Way You Look Tonight.’
Entertainment was provided by Magic Man London who performed his latest close-up tricks and comedian, Sheraz Yousaf, who has performed all over the UK and internationally and performs his one hour hit show, “The Pursuit of Manly-ness” every month in London.
It was an evening full of life and love, made even better by the great cause it was supporting. If you would like to make your donation to ensure an isolated older person receives weekly support, see Wimbledon Guild’s Just Giving page. Thanks to Lucas Concierge for restoring Lady Wimbledon’s house back to its former glory.
