Posh Totty Designs are the original hand stamped personalised jewellery company. Inspired by the Mayan jewellery skills she learnt whilst travelling in Mexico, founder Alice Rivers- Cripps started making jewellery from her kitchen table 14 years ago. It was pure chance that led her to experimenting with alphabet steel-stamps on tin cans, a process she later refined and started applying to her silver jewellery designs.
“The notion that each piece could be so unique and so precious to the wearer was what propelled me to carry on with personalising my designs. People started to request their wedding dates or their newborn’s name on their jewellery. I started to realise that it wasn’t just about the jewellery anymore, unlike fleeting fashion pieces I was making keepsakes that really meant something to people, pieces of jewellery that captured really special relationships or moments in time.”
Fast forward 14 years and Posh Totty Designs are now the go-to jewellers for handmade personalised jewellery. With a huge online following and shops in their hometown of Brighton as well as Islington, Posh Totty Designs wanted to have a home South of the River too.
“When Elys asked us to open up in their department store as part of their new shop-fit we jumped at the chance. Elys is a local institustion in and around areas of Wimbledon. Posh Totty Designs may well be situated alongside other big high street brands, however they haven’t left their independent values of being a UK handmade business behind. Each piece of jewellery is still handmade in their Brighton workshop by their team of 20 all-female jewellers. Posh Totty Designs decided to bring the workshop with them and do something a little bit different at Elys department store.
“We have an in-house jeweller resident every day at Elys, meaning customers can choose their piece of jewellery and personalisation and watch our jeweller hand stamp their chosen words and message while they wait. We’ve only been open a couple of weeks and already we’ve personalised numerous wedding dates and newborn babies names! It’s a little glimpse into the lives of the Wimbledon locals and people love to see the process happening before their eyes.”

Lady Wimbledon was thrilled to be invited to visit them in Ely’s and chose their bar necklace to personalise with her signature “Lady W” as well as the names of her three children.
