Oh Autumn! Where have you gone?
As Brits prepare themselves for the forecasted Indian Summer set to last until mid-October we, at Lady W HQ, have started preparing our Autumn skincare regime. What’s the point you say? Indian Summer or not Autumn gives us the chance to rejuvenate and repair our skin in preparation for colder temperatures and the inevitable havoc caused by central heating.
But it doesn’t need to seem as complicated as it may first appear. By simply adding a few items and boosting a few others you’ll find yourself enjoying the process of pampering your best asset without the worry of having to build an entirely new skincare regime. A good place to start is by injecting more moisture into your skin and here’s how to do it…
#1 – BREATHE THROUGH THE CHANGE
It is inevitable that your skin will experience some difficulty whilst you transition through the seasons especially when the weather begins to drop and our natural daily intake of Vitamin D drops. Autumn is also a great time for boosting your diet with foods that are going to help bring back those vital vitamins and nutrients we so dearly need to keep us ticking through the upcoming winter months. Not forgetting how important eating good food is for our physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing.

#2 – SWAP CLEANSERS
When the temperature eventually begins to drop our skin begins to lose moisture due to the dry air around us. Outsmart moisture-loss by using a cleanser that is a little more hydrating. Depending on your skin and how much moisture it needs you could try using something such as this ‘Take The Day Off’ Cleansing Balm from Clinique and let it melt away your days worries as well as makeup and sunscreen.
#3 – SUPERCHARGE WITH A BOOST
To combat dull, dry and tired skin you really should incorporate a serum into your skincare regime. It’s hands down one of the easiest ways to add an extra boost of hydration to your skin without feeling like you’re carrying too much weight on your face. Pick your booster according to your skins needs. We’d suggest Elizabeth Arden’s Advanced Ceramide Capsules to help you restore moisture to your skin and work on repairing any sun damage suffering during the summer.
#4 – PAMPER YOURSELF
Amid your crazy September schedules don’t forget to take the time to unwind, slow down and get yourself some R ‘n’ R. Taking the time to add some daily exercise into your routine has proven to do wonders. If you haven’t we’d definitely suggest giving pilates a try and once you’re back home pop on a sheet mask, sit back and relax whilst you watch your favourite TV show or read a book. We recommend trying Origins Plantscription Youth Awakening Sheet Mask as its fortified with Anogeissus Bark Extract which will instantly nourish and smooth out any fine lines and wrinkles.
#5 – KISS ME UNDER THE MAPLE TREE
Imagine everything you put your body through on a daily basis then imagine how much that affects your health. Part of pinning down that bright, youthful glow is ensuring your lips are well taken care of so don’t let them down this autumn. Show your lips a little TLC with L’Occitane en Provence ‘Ultra Rich’ lip balm and don’t forget to pop it into your handbag.
#6 – TURN IT AROUND, BRIGHT EYES
Although the sun may be setting earlier these days it doesn’t mean you need to put your party hat away! Dance your feet off into the night and power through those mornings in confidence with Vichy’s Idealia Eye Cream designed to combat the tell-tale signs of Anti-Fatigue.
So there you have it, our best tips to help you feel skin-ready whatever the weather may bring!
