So winter has taken its toll on our skin. The cold has a tendency to make the redness in certain areas slightly more apparent and obvious, regardless of the amount of cover up we use. Some of us may even be tackling dry patches and notice, regardless of our efforts, we seem to have foundation cling to areas of our nose or not look as flawless around our cheeks. Fret no more! Use these three tips to soothe, balance and brighten your skin in three simple steps.

Step One

Dr Jart+ Dermask Soothing Hydra Solution Deep Hydration Sheet Mask; £5.50

Sheet masks are the new holy grail staple for your beauty regime. Sheet masks are a great time saver but also an inexpensive way of changing up the ingredients your skin needs at certain times. Use a nice calming and soothing mask, with camomile and soothing, hydrating ingredients to reduce redness and give the skin a must needed drink. The skin will look soft and smooth and all makeup should glide on effortlessly.

Step Two

Guerlain Shaping Cream Lip Colour; £28

Coral is the colour of spring. We have a tendency that when using colour we get “stuck in a rut” if we usually use pinks or nudes, that’s all we reach for. I’m a firm believer that in all areas of beauty we must try to create a “wardrobe” of colour and care. Corals are the best way to bring the skin to life. Try to go for a cheek and lip combo to unify the complexion and bring vibrancy to the skin.

Step Three

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder; £30

Less is more. Spring makeup or spring looks in general are all about smooth fresh glowing skin. Only use coverage if it is needed, if not then there is nothing wrong with dusting some power or going without concealer. Use clever use of colour over foundation for added coverage. This will help to brighten the skin and give fresh and healthy glow to all skins.
