You don’t have to travel thousands of miles to enjoy the best of the Mediterranean… With the arrival of Wimbledon’s newest restaurant Kababji, the mouthwatering flavours of Lebanon have landed in London, and Wimbledon locals are in for a real treat.

Promising an authentic dining experience, Kababji has been delighting guests at its Beirut base since 1993. The brand is already well-known in the Lebanon and since opening the doors of its first UK restaurant in SW19 has been welcoming inquisitive foodies and fans of Lebanese cuisine with open arms.

More than just a “kabab joint” or fast-food alternative, Kababji is on a mission to share the beauty of real Lebanese cuisine in a chic, modern setting, and to prove that food that is good for you doesn’t have to be underwhelming. The team launching the restaurants in the UK are keen to spread this message to as many people as possible and are incredibly passionate about offering their customers an experience they’ll want to keep coming back for.

At the heart of the new all-day restaurant stands Kababji’s headliner: the ‘Artisan Grill’, where fresh meat, chicken and vegetables are cooked to order from am to pm. Watch your order being prepared before enjoying it in the simple-but-hip social dining area, or taking away if you’re strapped for time. Don’t worry if it’s your first time trying authentic Lebanese food – friendly staff are always on hand to answer any questions.

There’s a welcoming, laid-back vibe, and with USB ports and plug sockets dotted around tables and booths, Kababji looks set to become a buzzing hangout for the hot-desking crowd. A soon-to-launch Kababji App will also allow guests to order in advance for collection, or from their tables – great for speedy lunches.

What we really love about Kababji is its authenticity, attention to detail, and commitment to ethical, responsible sourcing. You won’t have tried Lebanese food quite like this, as every dish is prepared in-store with the finest ingredients and the utmost skill and care. The hummus (a popular favourite) for example, is a heavenly blend of chickpeas that are soaked overnight with a “secret spice blend”, to give it a delicious edge.

The menu showcases a range of grilled skewered meats and vegetarian alternatives, such as the iconic falafel and freshly prepared salads – these will go down an absolute treat on a summer’s day, especially when paired with a glass of freshly made watermelon lemonade. Why not pop along and “taste the Mediterranean”, whether it’s for a quick and well-balanced Beirut Box or the ultimate Kababji Feast with your family and friends.
