After their first year settling into the Wimbledon neighbourhood, Kababji are standing loud and proud. It’s hard to miss their new colourful exterior, which brings the heat and vibrance of Lebanon onto The Broadway and shouts all things warm and welcoming.

Kababji’s Beirut Bowl: Served on a bed of fresh mixed salad with red peppers, chickpeas and grilled chicken shish, also available in Grilled Halloumi and Crispy Falafel. Add the crispy sumac toasted bread topping for extra crunch.

The restaurant itself has also undergone some changes, making it an inviting spot to enjoy high quality healthy food at extremely reasonable prices. The décor is deliberately modern as Kababji, who are already well-established in Beirut and across the Middle East, have always been keen to set themselves apart from other Lebanese brands. Their uncompromising high quality ingredients, prepared fresh to order, ensures they serve the very best to their customers.

Kababji’s Beirut Box: (clockwise from top left) Spicy Kafta with an extra skewer; Crispy Falafel; Grilled Halloumi and Chicken Sish.

“Our cultural roots are undeniable as you’ll always receive a big warm welcome from the heart and experience the famous Lebanese hospitality when in the restaurant.”
– Kababji, Wimbledon.

Kababji’s Mixed Grill for two is served on a bed of turmeric rice together with a mezze of Quinoa Tabboule, Hummus, Fattouch and Moutabal.

As for the food? It’s unlike any other at this price-point. The quality speaks for itself and the authentic recipes and homemade sauces mean that you can indulge in a full, utterly satisfying meal as part of your healthy diet. Their promise of ‘no grease, just grill’ is exactly that – clean shish kababs. Taking their inspiration from Beirut street food, everything they do centres around the heart of the open grill, with a range of skewers from premium hormone-free chicken, grass-fed beef and lamb to vegetarian options including their homemade falafel and halloumi. It’s then up to you how you wish to enjoy these, be it in a wrap, box meal with mezze, or a fresh healthy salad. If you’re sharing in a group or just extra hungry, they also have a great selection of signature mezze dishes such as their original recipe hummus (apparently the best in Beirut!), freshly grilled moutabal, delicious fattoush and a host of other exciting sides and sharers to enjoy.

“Our personal tip would be to try the ‘Original’ wrap. This is our most authentic Lebanese sandwich, it’s how we eat it back home. This wrap may look slender but is packed with flavours and, as anyone who has experienced Kababji in the Middle East will tell you, the Kababji recipe is something really special.”
